Privacy Policy
WatchStack · Last updated: July 6, 2026
WatchStack is a free watchlist app for movies and TV shows, published by DtimesTwo Technologies LLC. This policy describes what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we don't run ads, we don't use analytics trackers, and we never sell your data.
01Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account we store your email address. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address (or Apple's private relay address if you choose to hide it) from that provider; we never see your Apple or Google password.
Your watch data. The content you create in the app is stored in your account so it can sync across your devices:
- Your queue and its order
- Watched history, episode progress, and watch dates
- Ratings you give titles
- Streaming services you select in "My streaming services"
- Shared lists you create or join, and their invite codes
- Reminders you set for premieres and new episodes
- Watchlist data you import from a CSV file
What we don't collect. No advertising identifiers, no analytics or behavioral tracking, no location, no contacts, no payment information (the app is entirely free).
02How we use your information
- To sync your queue, history, and settings across your devices
- To generate recommendations and "Pick for me" suggestions — computed from your own watch history and ratings
- To schedule premiere and new-episode reminders you've asked for
- To send transactional email only: sign-up confirmation and password reset. We never send marketing email.
03Third-party services
WatchStack relies on a small number of services to function:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting. Your account and watch data are stored here. Privacy policy
- TMDB (The Movie Database) — the catalog of movies, shows, artwork, and cast. Your searches and title lookups are sent to the TMDB API. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Privacy policy
- JustWatch — streaming availability data ("where to watch"), provided via TMDB. Privacy policy
- Apple & Google — optional sign-in providers. Apple · Google
- Resend — delivers our transactional email (confirmation and password reset). Privacy policy
04Data storage & security
Your data is stored in a hosted Postgres database (Supabase) protected by row-level security, meaning your records are only readable by your authenticated account — and, for shared lists, by the members you invite. All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with TLS. Passwords are hashed; we cannot read them.
05Sharing
If you create or join a shared list, its titles and member activity are visible to the other members of that list. That's the only sharing in the app. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing.
06Children's privacy
WatchStack is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
07Your rights & account deletion
You can also email us to request a copy of your data or its deletion, and you may correct your data at any time from within the app. Depending on where you live (e.g., EU/EEA, UK, California), you may have additional statutory rights; we honor requests under those laws at the contact below.
08Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we'll update this page and its "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
